Black Coffee and Many Words

I’m thinking…

It’s been a while since I’ve done a journaling page isn’t it? I don’t think I’ve written one up since I was at Christendom, which by the way, I still need to type up those journaling pages that I handwrote in a notebook before I lose them. I’m rather afraid of losing the things I write in notebooks from experience. I can’t seem to find a story I wrote up for a contest a while back, so now I can’t enter it; which is sad on the one hand since I actually wrote it, yet on the other it wasn’t a story I was overly fond of so I’m not too heartbroken about it- at the moment that is. I really have no idea where that story could have vanished to. Perhaps it is still lost in the pages of one of the many notebooks I have. It really could be in any of them. It could be hidden in one of the three I have by my bed, or the couple that are stashed in my desk drawer, or perhaps one of the ones that are flouting about in canvas bags.

I don’t think I shall spend much time looking for that particular story, however, much better to simply write a new and better one. I’m in such a mood for writing. I just want to sit down and write the day away, while sipping at a cup of black coffee. I have discovered today that I like black coffee, which is strange since I’m ever so fond of a cup of creamy coffee, sweet but not too sweet, but today I like black coffee. Today I like black coffee, an open book on my left hand and a vase of tulips on my right. Today I like writing stories when I don’t know what to write about.  Today I like writing emails to the dear ones who I’ve been neglecting sadly. Today I like writing a journaling page that skips from subject to subject at a fearsome rate and is rather wordy. Today I feel like writing. Though, perhaps that is not quite unusual and is like any other day? I nearly always feel like writing, even when I can’t find the words or a subject to write on, I always feel like writing.

I think today I shall get out my book of writing prompts and write a story from one of them. It’s funny isn’t it, how a short phrase can set a spark in your imagination and suddenly you have an entire story created from it? It doesn’t even have to be a complete sentence, just a single word and suddenly your imagination takes flight and your fingers are flying across the keyboard at a rate that astonishes even yourself.

I love that feeling, where you suddenly feel like your fingers are taking over. You aren’t pausing and lingering over the keys, your fingers are typing as fast as your thoughts can come, only never quite fast enough. It’s as if for a brief moment in time your thoughts and your fingers are one, meeting up together and bringing out the words on the page together. That’s why I don’t like writing with a pen or pencil quite as well, because there is such a bigger physical impediment to overcome. Your hand can’t keep up and your thoughts are flying away from you as quickly as they come.

Outside my window…

The first thing I notice when glance over my shoulder towards the window is the many white daisies sprinkled all over the lawn. Then my eyes wander to the yellow dandelions mixing in and out with the pink and white petals. Sunlight and shadow cast themselves over the little flowers and the grass. Longer blades of grass that line the gravel of the road swing gently in the breeze.

From the kitchen…

Lunch just finished. About time to do the dishes, wut wut? And yes, I did just feel like a hare from Redwall saying that, why?

I’m reading…

Right now I’m reading several books. You see, Crime and Punishment is the book I am reading primarily, however I’m also as a lighter read, reading some of Grimm’s fairytales, though when I say lighter perhaps I really mean easier? Since really, some of them are terribly dark. I’m still rather caught up in the after affects of reading The Count of Monte Cristo, those moments after reading a really good book where you are bewailing that it had to end, and I was reading some Sherlock Holmes when I was on break at the library the other day. So yes, I’m reading rather a lot of good books at the moment. Isn’t it ever so lovely to think of all the wonderful books out there that you have yet read for the first time? It’s really quite comforting to know that there will always be a beautiful new book to discover, or a beautiful old book to reread. There is always a book to be read and that is just waiting for you to open the covers and whisper those beginning words to yourself.

I’m listening to…

Right now I am perched atop the blue chair in the corner of my room, the laptop propped on my knees, listening to Pricilla Ahn songs. I just couldn’t seem to focus downstairs; my brothers were being far too distracting with Court Jester quotes and summersaults and such. much better able to focus now listening to my soft music and typing away happily.

I’m wearing…

A blue peasant style blouse, jeans, purple socks and my hair up in a messy bun.

A few plans for the rest of the week…

I can’t seem to think forward to the rest of the week- just today. Today I plan on getting school done, many and much writing done, perhaps some sketching, reading, and then I shall skip off to work. There hasn’t been much to do at work at all the past few days, not as many books to shelve as usual, or perhaps we are just getting faster? I can’t tell which. Anyways, I rather hope there will be more to do today than there has been. I don’t like days where you are scrounging for work to do, I like busy days where there are overflowing carts of books and lots to do. I like having a lot to do. Ever so much better than those days where you have to resort to alphabetizing the Spanish section yet again, or the graphic novels.

 Around the house…

As I said before, at some point during this journaling page (at least I think I said it, didn’t ?) that I would really like to spend some time working on writing some new story of a sort. So that’s what I would like to be doing around the house at the present moment. Just sitting here, in this same place as I write my journaling page, doing the same thing, writing, only on a story.

 I’m creating…

A book review on the series The Hunger Games, writing down my thoughts about Christendom college, and a drawing or two with my new pencils.

One of my favorite things…

Sleep. Naps. Sleep. More sleep.

Picture thoughts I’m sharing…

*cracks up* Obviously Emily has been slack in checking her blog the past couple days. Must fix this. I feel so happy to come back and find comments awaiting me!
